HSBC - Syracuse Homeownership Program ("SHOP") provides down payment and closing cost assistance to low-to-moderate income individuals buying a primary resident home within the City of Syracuse. Up to $500 of this assistance can be allocated towards the HVP premium, covering a protected amount of $33,333. Customers are eligible to increase the protected amount at their own expense.

Customers must discuss the SHOP and HVP programs with their HSBC loan underwriter prior to closing. The assistance through HSBC is not available after closing.

M&T - The "Get Started Program" provides down payment and closing cost assistance to low-to-moderate income individuals buying a primary resident home within the City of Syracuse. This assistance can be in the form of a grant or a loan, depending on the customers' income and census track of the home.

Customers must discuss the Get Started and HVP programs with their M&T loan underwriter prior to closing. The assistance through M&T is not available after closing.
